The Office of the Dean, Faculty of Education, is pleased to host , a º£½ÇÉçÇø BEd Alum and recent Alumni Award (2023) recipient who is currently the Vice-Provost for Students and Learning at the University of Saskatchewan. Dr. Cranston is a race-conscious scholar-educator, administrator, author, speaker and leader. He is returning to our faculty to share his expertise and insights gained from his lifelong work, which has centred on identifying societal inequities and advocating for racially just solutions for those who are often denied justice.
While some people may argue that anti-racism and anti-oppression efforts are exclusionary and divisive, supporting and enacting anti-racism/anti-oppression policies, guidelines and practices benefit everyone because the results improve the likelihood of fairer outcomes for every person who has suffered from a form of social marginalization based on the complexity of their identities.
