Faculté Saint-Jean launches dual-recognition courses
30 January 2025
Today, nine students from these school boards begin ECONE 101-Introduction à la micro-économie (Introduction to Microeconomics), a course they will receive credit for in the Arts & Sciences and Bilingual Bachelor of Business Administration programs at Faculté Saint-Jean.
These dual credit courses are offered to high school students (grades 11 and 12) by the Faculty's teaching staff. Students who successfully complete these courses earn university credits even before they start university, giving them a remarkable head start in their academic career.
Through this new offering, Faculté Saint-Jean is contributing to Alberta's francophone educational ecosystem and meeting a need for courses for francophone high school students who require an option. The Faculté has and plans to extend this offer to other school boards next year, including immersion programs.
Says Jason Carey, Ph.D., P.Eng., Dean and Executive Officer, Campus Saint-Jean, "The ambitious dual recognition program builds on the talent of French-speaking students in Alberta, raising the bar of academic expectations even higher and facilitating the transition to post-secondary studies at Faculté Saint-Jean. The reputation of the francophone community in Alberta and the impact of its members are thus strengthened."
