Research

Our Division's research interests span the infectious disease spectrum, from acute infections caused by emerging, re-emerging, and drug-resistant pathogens, through advancing treatments in chronic infections and opportunistic infections in the immunosuppressed hosts, to optimizing outcome and infection prevention at the population level.

We conduct clinical and translational research, as well as basic research to further understanding on pathogenesis and pathogen evolution.

Our multidisciplinary research approach fosters strong partnerships with medical microbiologists, virologists, and public health specialists, among others. The Division's clinical trial unit is actively engaging in regional and multicentre studies. The range of research programs provide excellent opportunities for hands-on exposure to scientific research for all our subspecialty trainees.
