In this workshop, you'll learn practical tips and proven strategies to navigate the career fair with confidence, make a lasting impression on employers, and maximize your opportunities. By the end of the session, you'll understand career fair etiquette and employers’ expectations, know how to prepare before, stand out during, and follow up after the event, feel more confident asking insightful questions, and be better equipped to deliver strong answers that impress potential employers.
In this workshop, you'll become familiar with job search basics, including understanding the difference between a “traditional” and “strategic” job search, implementing strategies for finding a job in any economy, and developing career research and planning skills. You'll learn best practices for answering traditional, behavioral, and technical interview questions, and gain confidence in tackling commonly challenging questions like "Tell us about yourself," "What’s your starting salary expectation?" and "Why should we hire you?"

In this workshop, you’ll learn what networking really is, why it’s important, and how to build an intentional network that aligns with your goals. In this workshop, we provide actionable tips for creating a professional LinkedIn profile that catches recruiters' attention. You'll also learn how to effectively use LinkedIn to gather career insights, expand and strengthen your professional network, amplify your personal career brand, and discover summer, co-op, and full-time job opportunities.
According to LinkedIn data, approximately 70% of engineering job postings highlight “excellent communication skills” as a required qualification. In this workshop, we’ll share best practices for writing effective and professional emails, including how to differentiate between effective and ineffective communication, understanding the key components of a professional email, and mastering the four “superpowers” of effective communicators. Join us to learn how to craft stand-out emails and make communication effortless!
Building on the skills from the Level 1 workshop, this session takes a deeper dive into crafting professional emails that leave a lasting impression. You’ll learn how to elevate your email communication from good to great by avoiding common mistakes and applying the 7Cs of effective communication. Through actionable strategies and practical examples—such as reaching out to research faculty, requesting references, and writing thank-you emails—you’ll gain the tools to confidently tackle a variety of professional email scenarios with clarity and confidence.

Company recruiters and employees will be on hand to present information and answer questions about topics including: company culture, projects, career path options, recruiting practices, qualifications for open positions, the hiring process, and expectations for new employees.
