Participatory Decision Making

About
Teamwork is essential in the workplace, whether it is an administrative or academic context. Some of the strongest teams are those that have members from different educational backgrounds and work experiences, who are working together and aligned for a common purpose. Sometimes, our teams are across different departments or faculties, and you have to find a way to maximize all of the different expertise that exists across your team. As a formal or informal leader on your team, you may know how to recognize these strengths, but it can be a challenge to integrate them all seamlessly, especially when this pushes you and your team to approach your work, and your relationships with each other, in new ways.
This interactive workshop will help you identify common values and accountabilities that can guide your team’s work; learn about and practice using tools to facilitate team members’ understanding one another’s perspectives; and learn about and practice using a range of decision making approaches for the unique context of your team.
