Political Science Graduate Students’ Association

The Political Science Graduate Students’ Association (PSGSA) is a student-led organization dedicated to representing and strengthening the graduate student community in the Department of Political Science at the º£½ÇÉçÇø (UAlberta). This includes students in the MA in Political Science, MA in Policy Studies (MAPS), and PhD in Political Science programs.

Our mission is to foster a supportive and inclusive community by creating meaningful opportunities for:

  • Social connection through events and activities,
  • Academic support and mentorship,
  • Professional development to enrich your career, and
  • Collaboration within and beyond the department.

We liaise with faculty, staff, the Graduate Students’ Association (GSA) and other student groups, and University administration to advocate for our members’ diverse goals, needs, and interests.

The PSGSA is committed to promoting students’ success and well-being across academic, labour, and social aspects throughout their time in the program.

All UAlberta Political Science graduate students are members of the PSGSA. Our Executive Committee works on a volunteer basis, and is elected annually through a Spring Election and Fall By-Election. We encourage all members to get involved—whether by voting, running for a position, or joining our events and initiatives!
