The Department of Medicine has several career development awards for individuals and teams:

Winners are recognized at the Department of Medicine's Annual Celebration Dinner.

All submissions are completed online, using the Nomination Form links provided.

Annual Submission Deadline: March 15th* at 5 p.m. MT

*If March 15th falls on a weekend, the submission deadline will be the next business day.

Thomas J Marrie Mentorship Award

Thomas J Marrie Mentorship Award

The Thomas J. Marrie Mentorship Award recognizes a faculty member, particularly someone not in a named position, who best exemplifies the qualities of a mentor. This award recognizes individuals who have provided sustained mentorship and support, both formally and informally, to multiple individuals, fostering their personal and professional growth, particularly by guiding them toward unexpected career opportunities and actively advocating for their success.

Jonathan B Meddings Clinical Innovation Award

The Jonathan B. Meddings Clinical Innovation Award recognizes clinical innovations that impact patient care positively and meaningfully. Scholarly clinical activity could include the discovery of new diagnostic or therapeutic agents, development of new methods of drug or patient care delivery, new practice procedures or programs, new databases, enhancements of patient safety, patient education and/or relevant quality improvements to care or processes.
