Alberta Brain and Cognitive Development Lab

Dr. Sandra Wiebe

The ABCD Lab investigates how children develop the ability to regulate their behaviour, thoughts, and emotions, using gamelike cognitive tasks and electroencephalography (EEG) to study neural correlates. Current active studies includes an EEG study of the impact of reward and motivation on children's cognitive control, an online study of inhibitory control and parenting, and a study of the effect of emotional facial expressions on working memory performance in 6-year-olds led by Psychology Honours Student Olivia Tiessen. Check out our lab for more information about our research.
