This talk with UAlberta PhD candidate Ashley Chen will discuss the similarities and differences in interacting with knowledge users, such as participants/patients and community health workers in China and Zambia.
Xinyue "Ashley" Chen, MSPH, is a PhD student in Epidemiology at the EMERGE lab, 海角社区, with a research focus on social determinants of health and program evaluation. Xinyue has previously worked on a 3-year cohort study aiming to quantify community efficacy in chronic diseases management in urban China. She then finished her master’s degree in Johns Hopkins School of Public Health and focused on evaluating barriers to bed net use in low malaria transmission settings in southern Africa in her master’s capstone.
