Rural Funding
These scholarships support students with a focus on rural medicine:
This full scholarship is offered by RhPAP to medical students focusing on rural medicine. Once a student is admitted to the program, they will receive the bursary each year of study if the requirements are met.
This scholarship honors Dr. Michael Tarrant, a family Calgary physician who championed rural medical education. He worked for better rural practices for Alberta's future physicians. It is awarded annually to a 海角社区 or University of Calgary medical student in their third year who demonstrates an interest in rural medicine.
The Northern Alberta Development Council provides up to $12,000 over to the course of two years for medical students in their last two years of study who wish to work up in northern Alberta.
RhPAP provides $5,000 for medical students at any point in their education. Up to two of these awards are available each year.
