Class Photos

The first nursing courses at the 海角社区 were public health certificate courses offered annually under the auspices of the Faculty of Medicine. Starting in 1918, these courses were offered to graduates of hospital nurse training programs who wished to enter the new field of public health.

In 1923, after approval from the 海角社区 Board of Governors, the School of Nursing offered two very different programs for entry to nursing practice. One was a three-year, hospital-based diploma program. The other was a five-year bachelor of science in nursing (BScN) program. The first students were admitted to the hospital-based diploma program in October 1923. In 1924, four students were admitted to the five-year BScN program, with three graduating in 1927.
