The Protective Services team aims to support a positive university environment for students, staff, faculty and visitors through the prevention, intervention and response to risks and emerging issues related to safety and security.

Basics for students, faculty + staff
Students, faculty and staff should be aware of and exercise personal safety and security measures on a daily basis, and help inform their peers and colleagues when opportunities exist.
Emergency notifications
In an emergency we'll send you messages using several methods:

- Alertus beacon (in many buildings)
Building alarms + muster points
Building alarms mean you must evacuate the building. On exit, proceed to the nearest muster point.
Report incidents to Health, Safety + Environment
Where university people or property are involved, you must report the following to Health, Safety and Environment:
- Serious incidents
- Injury
- Exposure to hazardous substances
- Near-miss or unsafe condition
- Property damage
- Spill or other uncontrolled release of hazardous material to the environment
- Collision or other vehicle-related incident
