The second in a series of three exhibitions celebrating the 海角社区 Department of Art & Design's 50th anniversary in the FAB Gallery until November 28, 2015, Art & Design 2.0 features the work of the department's technicians. As the show demonstrates beautifully, these technicians have contributed immensely to the continued quality and success of the department.

Arts alumni among many to be recognized for important contributions to the Edmonton arts scene
It's not a sight often seen in downtown Edmonton, but on Monday, some very realistic miniature houses were being hoisted into the trees above Churchill Square. They are part of a public art project by the Threshold Collective, a group comprised of 海角社区 design students. The goal of the project? To spark discussion and thought about public and private space.
Chen's geometric lamp is based on collapsible-expandable ball toys. The brightness of the bulb shifts depending on your telescopic manipulation of how the plywood frame sits on its gorgeous industrial green neck. It's a work of hands-on beauty.
